Chris de Jager
Chris is a Chartered Accountant (SA) and Registered Auditor and studied at the University of Stellenbosch. He completed his SAICA training contract at Greenwoods in Cape Town, whereafter he worked at Arthur Young (later Ernst & Young) in Paarl. He worked at Hoek & Wiehahn in Bethal for another three years, and in 1983 he became a partner at Swiegers & Smith in Malmesbury, which later amalgamated with PwC. In 1989 he bought the Malmesbury office and it became BGR Chris de Jager and Partners. In 2011 the firm got a new identity with the name change to BGR De Jager Boshoff, when his daughter joined the business.
His experience over the past three decades is wide and deep, and is he a specialist particularly in the areas of audit, tax, estate planning, trusts and business advice. He is frequently requested to give expert advice in dispute resolutions, legal matters and the like. He is also an accredited Black Economic Empowerment verification analyst and consultant.
Chris currently serves on SAICA’s tax committee in the Western Cape. He is also serving on a number of boards as a non-executive director, as well as serving on the audit committee of a number of municipalities. Previously he served among others as vice-chair of regional board of directors for Saambou, and as audit committee member of a medical aid fund.
